One major fear of technicians hesitant to start freelancing in the AV industry is that they’ll be constantly chasing after payments. In the AV industry, administration for submitting and processing invoices can be tedious, but things are changing. There are a lot of e-admin tools that can generate work contracts in a short amount of time and set up payment terms for the duration of a project.

Some AV freelance marketplaces have these work contract and invoice tools built into their platform, so that with every new job you have pre-defined terms for milestones and payments. If anything, work and payment terms are fast becoming the least of a freelance technician’s worries.
